The appointments of Inga Beale at Lloyd’s, Amanda Blanc at Axa and, most recently, Sian Fisher to head up the Chartered Insurance Institute might suggest that women have broken through the glass ceiling that once obstructed their career paths in the UK insurance industry. Changes may be happening but it is not a simple story of showing sexism the door.
