Evolving out of the Lloyds and London insurance markets, Intermediaries Transaction Exchange LTD (ITEX) was established in 1998 by the current chairman Nigel Norman. It was launched as an aid to enhance the role of insurance intermediaries in a market place starting to be dominated by direct writers. It was the first truly interactive internet based Underwriting Platform in the UK.
